Karen Berlin Ishii, a graduate of Brown University, has over 25 years' experience as a classroom teacher and test prep tutor. She taught for The Princeton Review before founding her very successful tutoring consortium in Boston, creating PSAT and SAT prep courses for The British School and others. Now in New York City, she teaches students around the globe via Skype for a wide range of exams, including the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, AP exams, GRE and TOEFL. In addition to teaching, Karen produces seminars and lectures on SAT and ACT prep, as well as private school test prep and admissions, for parents and students through The Brown Club in New York. A faculty member of the "Admissions Workshop Series" at Brown University's Summer@Brown program for high school students, Karen gives weekly presentations on ACT and SAT prep. She reviews and edits SAT, PSAT and other test prep textbooks for major publishers including the "Dummies" series for Wiley, Vocabulary Workshop for Sadlier, the ISEE/SSAT for Barron's and the upcoming title on the PSAT for Barron's. Karen also is a distributed scorer for Pearson, scoring standardized test essays nationwide.
